How to Fix Missing ACR Presets and Profiles: A Quick Guide

Are your installed presets and profiles not appearing in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)? Don’t worry; this common issue can be resolved in just a few steps. Follow this guide to make your presets visible and functional in no time.

STEPS TO FIX MISSING PRESETS AND PROFILES IN ACR

Open Adobe Camera Raw (ACR): Launch Adobe Camera Raw from your Photoshop or Lightroom application.
Access the Presets Menu: Navigate to the Presets panel located on the right side of your ACR interface.
Right-Click on the Presets Menu: In the Presets panel, right-click to open the context menu.
Enable Partially Compatible Presets: Ensure the box next to "Show Partially Compatible Presets" is checked. This will display all installed presets, even those partially compatible with your current photo format.
Your presets should now appear in the Presets panel, ready for use.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON USING PRESETS WITH JPEG FILES

If you’re working with JPEG files, you might notice that some presets appear italicized or greyed out. This happens because JPEGs are compressed files that already contain a camera profile. Since the presets include a built-in camera profile, ACR prevents adding another profile to avoid duplication. Rest assured, the preset will still function correctly, even though it appears differently.
